Our Leadership
Dvir Cohen has served as Momentis Surgical’s Chief Executive Officer since October 2013. Mr. Cohen has been a leader in Momentis from its inception and brings more than 15 years of experience in innovative robotic systems. Prior to joining Momentis Surgical, Mr. Cohen served in various positions in the Israeli Ministry of Defense as an awarded officer specializing in robotic systems for various applications. From 2011 to 2013, Mr. Cohen held the positions of research and development manager and robotic project specialist in an elite technology unit of the Israel Intelligence Force. From 2007 to 201, Mr. Cohen led several opto-mechanical disruptive solutions in the Ministry of Defense, one of which won the Israel Defense Award. Mr. Cohen has experience at all stages of product development, from the early conceptual stage through prototyping to production line implementation and final marketing of government and defense units. Mr. Cohen’s recent recognitions include receiving the Deal of the Year Award from BioFlorida, a life sciences industry association, for Momentis Surgical’s $96 million Series D financing and being named an Endeavor Entrepreneur by Endeavor Miami, an affiliate of the global Endeavor organization leading the global high-impact entrepreneurship movement. Mr. Cohen earned an MBA from the Recanati Business School at Tel Aviv University, majoring in Business Strategy and Entrepreneurship. He also earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the Technion as part of the “Brakim” excellence program.

Dr. Irit Yaniv has served as a Momentis Surgical director since September 2014. Dr. Yaniv is an experienced healthcare technologies investor and executive, with more than 25 years of experience in the venture capital, pharmaceutical and biotech industries. Dr. Yaniv is a Partner at Accelmed, an investment firm focused on medical device companies and technologies, where she plays a key role in leading Accelmed’s early-stage portfolio companies, serving either as chairperson or as an active board member. Dr. Yaniv also currently serves as the CEO and Co-Founder of Almeda Ventures (TASE:AMDA), a public R&D partnership that invests in healthcare technologies. Dr. Yaniv previously served as CEO at medical device companies Impulse Dynamics and MetaCure. Dr. Yaniv holds an MD degree from Ben Gurion University and an MBA from the Recanati Business School at Tel Aviv University.
Sandra Morgan has served as a Momentis Surgical director since August 2022. Ms. Morgan has 32 years of healthcare and executive leadership experience working for Fortune 100 companies. Most recently, she served as senior vice president, physician and provider relations at HCA Healthcare from March 2008 until June 2021. During her 13-year tenure at HCA, her responsibilities included business growth for hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, urgent care clinics, transfer centers, and all service lines including surgical and robotics, women’s and children’s, neurology, oncology, emergency services, behavioral health, employer brokers, and rural markets. She also led the HCA Enterprise Transfer Center and founded the management development group that helped advance the careers of many of HCA’s vice presidents, hospital CEOs, COOs, and service line leaders. Prior to HCA, Ms. Morgan served as vice president for Pfizer’s U.S. managed care business, where she played a major role in the launch and formulary adoption of several products. Ms. Morgan received her BS degree in business administration from the University of Illinois and an MBA from St. Joseph’s University.
Dr. Morry Blumenfeld has served as a Momentis Surgical board observer since February 2016. Dr. Blumenfeld is president and CEO of Quescon Consultants, Ltd., a medical device consulting company, and a partner at Meditech Advisors, LLC. He was an executive at GE for nearly 35 years, and served GE Medical Systems Business in numerous roles, including initiating both the CT and MRI businesses, and as managing director of GE Medical Systems in Israel. Dr. Blumenfeld holds five patents and serves or has served on the boards of a number of medical device and technology companies in the USA and Israel – as well as numerous Canadian, international, and Israeli advisory boards in technology and science. He is on the board of the Hebrew University and Yissum (the Hebrew University’s tech transfer company), and on the scientific advisory board of the Momentum Fund of Ramot (Tel Aviv University’s tech transfer company). Dr. Blumenfeld received his undergraduate degree and Ph.D from the University of Toronto.
